I don't think there is hard and fast policy, but there is pretty solid
guidelines. I can't remember where I read it, but the wording was
something to the effect that (1) you burn out the kid, (2) divert the
attnetion of the leader, and (3) place the safety of the kid and of
others at risk. I think it is a bad idea. I have resisted taking
my 5 year old Sam, even when my scouts had effectively hidden him in
my sons sleping bag, and Sam was being real quite. I actually
think they thought Mom would drive away without "the little guy."
Or was Mom in on the plot? .... Hmmmm.
