G'day all,
It is I, Sarah Jones here again. This time, it is because my Group Leader has
all of a sudden realized what I have here at my finger tips and has asked me
to put out a request.
Here in Australia, we have probably 90% to 95% land scouts and 5 to 10 % Sea
Scouts. We have quite a few here in Australia. This makes things easiy for
most people with programs and having people of the same sort around.
As most would be aware, my group is chancing over to Air scouts. this becomes
official at the next cencse wihic is at the start of April. we have a problem
in that there is no other Air Scout group exsit in South Australia's Scouting
past, and we are not even to sure that there are other groups in Australia. We
have written to 2 or 3 groups that we have heard *may* be Air Scouts, but at
this stage, little is know. If anyone reading this has any information about
Air Scouts in the USA or in England, or New Zealand, please let me know, so I
can help the Group Leader. He is in the Air Force and trying to see what
contacts he has there in other bases, but as yet, is still waiting on repies!
I do know tht at one stage the Ranger Guide section in Sa (Ranger guides being
14 to 18 years old and the Guiding eqivilant to Venturers) had Air Rangers, as
when my mum was a Ranger, she was a sea Ranger, and she has mentioned Land
Rangers and Air Rangers. But that is now history, as all Ranger Units are
basicly Land Units.
So, if anyone can tell us what excalty we should or shouldnt be doing and what
we can and cant do, please let me know, so I can help the gropie!
TThank you in advance
YIS
Sarah
