Hi Beth, (and of course, everyone else!)

The Communications Service of Scouts Canada's National Council keeps
track of issues related to areas of concern or mention with respect to
Scouting. One of those issues is AIDS. As part of recommendations for
future upgrades of the youth handbooks, is to be included in the areas of
safety and first aid, a discussion on AIDS/HIV. As well, there are
currently policies in place with respect to leaders, executive staff and
other volunteers and staff with respect to AIDS (these are called administrative
procedures). The policy is non-discriminatory and states that education and
understanding are essential.

Hope this sheds some light (I know for some, this equates to a little pen light
shedding of light, but hey!)

Take care,
Bob
