In the Midnight Sun Council, they go for 40 below awards and 100 below
awards. The 40 below has to occur on one night out. The 100 below is
the accumulation of degrees below zero for each night out during a winter
season.
We tried for a 50 below but the best I got was 46.
Whenever the forecast was for 40 below, you could see the troops moving
out in hopes of getting those patches.
BTW, for those who didn't know, 40 below is 40 below F or C. It is cold
in either case, but not bad when you are dressed for it. I would go back
in a minute.
