Re: camping around Baltimore, MD

There are a number of places in the Baltimore area (depending somewhat
on your definition of "area"). There are a couple of state parks in
the area, especially on the SW side, but I'm not sure what dates the
parks are open anymore (budget cuts 8( ) - I also don't remember the
names offhand, probably best just to call the headquaters for the
Maryland state parks to get up-to-date info. One place that I've been
to several times for scouting activities is the Davidsonville
Transmitter Site (I believe all coordination for this place is done
through Andrews AFB) - it's a half hour or so south of the city,
though. Another military base which is a little ways out of Baltimore
but which you could check with is Ft. Meade. None of these are
particularly close in to downtown, but these are the ones I can think
of offhand.

One suggestion for a possible sight to see would be the GM plant
(where they make the minivans) - I've never actually been to it but
several people I've known went and enjoyed it.
