Re: Advisor training

Mikele, you wrote about training and Explorer District. We have been put in
an explorer district and are not impressed. It has been a year and a half
and so far its zilch. We get zero service now while we are expected to
provide $$ to the district. There are no longer roundtable meetings for us
and the one and only training event which has happened was a joke. We are
trying to get back into Yolo district. There are still posts in the BSA
district since the LDS posts were never moved into the explorer districts.
Currently we service the old district by staffing their events but we have
no contact since we aren't part of it. It causes a real communication problem.

I would very much like to hear from other units about the explorer district
idea. Is it working in other areas??? What are the district events??? What
district officers do you have??? Is it just advisors or do the explorers
meet regionally??? How do you handle similarities and differences. There
are so many kinds of posts.
