Re: QuarterMaster Award (fwd)

Yes, there have been quite a few young ladies who have earned the Quarter=
master
award. My Ship has produced 1 as has another in our council. I'm aware =
of at
least 4 others in Maryland over the past 10 years. (These numbers may =
seem
low, but in an average year only about 20 Sea Explorers earn the Quarterm=
aster
Award.)

Information about the Quartermaster Award and other Sea Exploring
related issues is available at the Sea Exploring web site at
<http://www.sea.scouter.com>. You may also wish to contact the Sea Explo=
ring
listserv, Seascout-Net at seascout-net@scouter.com

I don't have any answers to your question. I would like to know more =
about
national and local awards that units have developed. We get very little
council or district help as the council is flat broke and focuses little
attention on exploring.

At a meeting last night the officers delt with the lack of participation =
at
service projects - Those who participate get first in line for outings,
meals and anything else for which you queue. The kids wanted action not
certificates!
