Re: New EMS post

I haven't seen much activity on this list so I'm posting a bit about me and
my post.

I was an ASM for 6 years and recently became COR and CC of a newly formed EMS
Explorer Post in Brooklyn,NY attached to a volunteer ambulance corps.

We have 9 active explorers. Most of my explorers are female and we seem to be
unable to interest or recruit male members. Any suggestions? I would be
interested in knowing what other posts do to recruit members and also what
other EMS posts do in the way of activities and community service projects.

Because we're in the City of New York, adding Search and Rescue is not an
option for our post.

While the explorers are taking training they don't seem to pull together as a
unit for other activities-non ems related. Is this because of their age,
other time committments, or am I doing something wrong? Would any other
explorer posts in the area be interested in a joint social activity such as
skiing or a dude ranch weekend?
