Susan, FWIW, I would guess that service at traditional Scouting events will
not be exciting for those with no previous Scouting background. If they've
never been a Scout, it's likely they can't relate to Scouting activities.
Perhaps, the key will be to find a service project more directly related to
the Post's high adventure theme (like assisting the ski patrol or something)
and less related to Scouting. Even community related service projects like
Habitat for Humanity, local food drives, etc. might be more likely to catch
their interest.
Remember, free advice is worth what you paid for it.
