Re: New Ship 555(?), Tampa, FL

Welcome aboard, Cade!

That's really good news. I'm forwarding your message to your Regional
Commodore, Walt Whitacre (Huntsville, AL ... you can see his e-mail address
attached to this message), and will be carrying a copy to Jim Elroy, a really
good Skipper in Miami, this weekend. Jim's phone number is 305-323-8278. I'm
sure he'd be delighted to help you in any way he can.

When you get the Ship up and running, please send me the following
information so we can promote you at the Sea Exploring exhibit at the Jamboree
next year:

Ship number and name
Council number
Sponsor's name and address
Skipper's name, address, phone number, and e-mail address (if any)

Good luck. Let me know if I may be of additional assistance.

Bruce

The Port of Tampa Propeller Club (Port #5) is sponsoring a Sea Explorer
Ship. Our first meeting is scheduled December 7, 1996, at the Marine
Safety Office of the U.S. Coast Guard, on Davis Island near Marjorie Park
from 1100 to 1300. Our skipper is John Timmel, a Pilot in Tampa, and the
sponsoring organization is a professional society of the maritime
industries in the Tampa area. We have some good leads on sailboats
already, and will have regular meetings at the Coast Guard station. So
far so good. We are excited!
